Frequently Asked Questions
What
is a search engine?
Web
visitors generally use search engines to find sites
matching their search criteria. The visitor enters words
or phrases in the search area, and the search engine
produces a list of related sites. The search engine
provides this information after conducting a more
comprehensive search using indexing software agents,
often called "robots" or "spiders."
These
robots and spiders are programmed to "crawl"
the Internet in search of new or updated web sites. The
search engine becomes aware of a new site to visit and
index when that site is submitted.
What is URL submission ?
It is the transmission of your URL, which is
your web page's address on the internet, to highly trafficked sites for placement in their
indexes. Included with the URL are the web page's title, a description and your keywords
that are used to find information at Search engines, Online directories, specialty sites,
and link pages.
How do I know if my page is Search Engine
ready and how long does it take you to submit my site ?
After payment is made, your submission is
made within 24 to 48 hours. Before starting your submissions, 1 2 3 Cyber Register will
visit your web site to insure your Title and meta keyword and description
tags are in place and are structurally correct.
You
can also take advantage of our SEOcure
service to insure the page you are
submitting meets the important requirements of search
engine optimization.
Be aware that some
search engines and other target sites can take several weeks before registering your site.
How do I know when I am registered, how
long will I be registered and do I ever have to re-submit ?
We send you an email confirming the process
of submitting your registrations. Although all sites on this list have accepted your
submission, the only way to positively know if your site is registered with a search
engine or directory, is to periodically search for your site at the specific engine or
directory.
Search engines have different policies. Some have
permanent listings, like Infoseek, but others may list your site for varying lengths of
time and based on criteria such as your sites activity, may drop your listing.
As a general rule, we recommend you re-submit every
3 months and whenever you make any significant change to your web page. Some search
engines will revisit your site after the initial registration to update their databases,
but not all. It is much more time efficient to re-submit via automation than to visit each
of the sites you originally submitted to. Our Gold submission plans
automatically submit your information every 3 months,
insuring that web site is available to be indexed by the
search engines and directories included in your plan.
Do you update the sites you
submit to ?
The web is constantly changing and as search tools are
added they are evaluated by 1 2 3 Cyber Register for inclusion on our list.
Just what are the sites my URL will be
submitted to ?
A list of the
current sites is available. We constantly evaluate and update this list for relevancy
and dependability.
Why should I use your service ?
It will be difficult to find a better over-all value on
the Internet, consider;
